In 2007 VVVF, the Venturous Vanguard Video Festival, is celebrating its third year!

Founded and curated by the artist Shoshana Brand the VVVF presents video shorts made by international artists. The theme of the 2007 festival is:

Laugh, Cry, Be Poetic, Get Crazy

On Saturday, April 28, 2007 the VVVF will be screened in Mission College, together with the 4th annual Carless Drive-In Video Festival. The Carless Festival presents videos made by youth and the students of the multi-media department at Mission College. Please go to www.lamission.edu/iam for more information.

Echo Park Film Center welcomes VVVF on Sunday, May 13, 2007 for two special screenings, at 4 pm and 7 pm.

The Echo Park Film Center is a volunteer-run, non-profit media arts organization committed to providing equal and affordable access to film and video education. The Center’s mission is to provide this access via a micro-cinema space, free and nominal cost media arts education programs, comprehensive film equipment and service department, and a touring film festival.

California State University Northridge (www.csun.edu/art) will have the VVVF on Thursday, May 17,2007 in conjunction with the 2007 Video Walk, a yearly event directed by David Callaghan, Melody Kellis and Niku Kashef. Students and community members are invited to watch the VVVF and the Video Walk at the interior and exterior of CSUN Art Department. The event will start at 11 am and will go away into the night. Food and drinks will be served. A map with the screening locations and exact screening times will be distributed.

Altered Esthetics, located in Minneapolis, will also serve as a host venue for the  VVVF 2007. The exact date and time of the event will be posted soon!
